AQUENTIUM TO HOLD SEMINAR ON APPLICATIONS OF E-COLI AND SALMONELLA INTERVENTION USING OZONE FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PROCESSORS

North Palm Springs, CA - (WORLD STOCK WIRE) - June 24, 2008 -- Aquentium, Inc. (OTCBB: AQNM) announced today that company will be holding a seminar on July 2, 2008 for fruit and vegetable processors regarding e-coli and salmonella intervention using ozone for their food processing and plant sanitation.

Since mid-April, there have been 145 reported cases of salmonellosis, including at least 23 hospitalizations, the FDA said. Illnesses were reported in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 40,000 people are sickened by salmonella each year in the U.S. The CDC estimates that about 400 people die each year with acute salmonellosis, the infection caused by the salmonella bacteria.

“One of the latest big outbreaks was in late summer 2006, when E. coli from fresh spinach renewed fears about the safety of leafy greens in particular, which had been implicated in 19 prior outbreaks since 1995,” stated Aquentium President Mark Taggatz.

Ozone, long known as a protective shield between humans and the sun's rays, has a very beneficial use in the produce industry. Research has found that ozone enhances the freshness of fruits and vegetables.

Treating produce and processing equipment with ozone significantly reduces the amount of bacteria that could potentially spoil fruits and vegetables, according Aquentium President Mark Taggatz.

Recently grocery stores Safeway (NYSE: SWY) and Kroger (NYSE: KR) removed tomatoes from shelves after the Food and Drug Administration warned of a widening outbreak of salmonella, a food-borne illness.

“Our ozone equipment installed at any restaurant or grocery store would allow for all raw tomatoes and other fresh fruits and vegetables to be washed thoroughly with ozonated water and thus help eliminate the need of replacing the produce and also help increase the grocery store or restaurant's profits,” stated Taggatz. "The use of ozone can also greatly reduce the number of spoilage bacteria in a produce processing facility and help maintain low levels of spoilage bacteria over time in air, water and on processing equipment."

Ozone has been found to be effective in extending the shelf life of produce. Taggatz added, "Ozone seems to extend the shelf life of our treated fruits and vegetables by at least one or two days. It can help enhance product quality and lengthen the shelf life of produce so that fruits and vegetables lasts longer in the retail or wholesale distribution chain."

“This is great news for produce dealers, who regularly lose a certain amount of food to spoilage and we look forward to introducing our ozone solutions to fruit and vegetable processors worldwide,” said Taggatz.

The use of ozone should result in increased profitability in the produce industry. Other benefits are found when ozone is used to treat the air and water in produce processing facilities.

"Ozone is immediately lethal to bacteria," commented Taggatz.

Until 2001, ozone could only be used as a disinfectant to treat bottled water. But its effectiveness as an antibacterial agent allowed the FDA to extend its use and allow direct contact with all food. Currently, many produce processors use chlorine as a sanitizing product. Ozone does not leave any chemical residues like chlorine.

Produce processors interested in attending the seminar need to RSVP by calling 760-329-4139.
